Supplements

I've just bought another 2.5kg box of this stuff; didn't use my last batch properly I don't believe. Anyone else using any kind of supplements, if so please state below. Also, pros and cons of such supplements and why it does/doesn't work for you is also relevant.

I'm sticking to a 3-day-split  and making sure I maintain my calorie intake, however, it's not all clean. My diet varies a lot day to day.

  1. As a general rule, I hate protein supplements and supplements of most kinds. I work out 3-4 times a week and I get easily enough protein in my diet.
As for why I don't like them, you can't really give one reason for every brand/type. For example, I know many protein supplements do damage to your skin. I receive my protein through nuts, eggs, meat and other foods. Good blog - I'll follow along.

  2. I've just started doing some research on different types of supplements as well. Not taking any at the moment. It's good to have a little variety in your diet. I just try to hit my macro's everyday.

  5. I take a pre-workout energy supplement and a post workout whey protein mix. Seems to be working well and I am already seeing gains in the weight I can put up and the size of my body.

  6. I used to. Buy 'em in bulk (like excessive bulk) if you need motivation to work out. If you store them in Tupperware containers or something similar, it'll keep fresh almost indefinably. Also, dig the rainbow theme. I'm ma make like a stalker and follow you!

  9. Used to take supplements, and yes, they did work (Used to take protein shakes 3 times a day). But remember, what you put in, what you get out. More you put in (As in, into your body system i.e. protein), the more you need to get out (Energy wise, so exercise). So you can't take supplements and not do anything, or you'll see the opposite effects. Especially for protein, you'll turn fat if you just burn thru it but don't exercise. Just keep in mind of the word 'equilibrium'.

  15. I take this stuff, great for putting on a bit of bulk. If your looking to stay lean (3 day splits) you should maybe just look at a whey protein.
